Indian arms deal

India is one of the biggest democratic countries in the world but they are not happy about their military power. This year the country is planning to buy lot of arms from the West as it faces stiff opposition and competition from its rivals the Chinese and Pakistanis. Arms sales is booming as a multi billion dollar industry with the countries going behind them.Indian arms deal is spread with several countries like Russia, USA, UK and France..

From Russia: India has been a very old customer buying MiG fighter jets(MiG 35), Sukhois and the latest of them being the acquisition of the aircraft carrier Admiral Gorshkov from Russia.The MiG planes are very famous as they often crash. The deal with Russians runs into $4.8Billion.



From Britain: Britain has sold a lot of fighter jets to India namely the Jaguar, The Sea Harrier, Sea Hawk and the first aircraft carrier INS Vikrant was bought from Britain.

From USA, France: The US Defence company Lockheed Martin is trying to sell its F16 Viper and F18 Super Hornet.The French Defence company Dassault Rafale has sold 60 Mirage-2000 planes to India.
